About Seward ParkSeward Park is accessible from Lake Washington Boulevard S to the north, the Seward Park Avenue S. to the south, while S Orcas Street provides access from the west. In the southwest corner there are the main parking lot and a lovely tennis court. The park is accessible by a 2.4 miles long car-free loop around it, but there are also interior trails, accessible by car.
In the Seward Park there are several amenities, among which an amphitheatre, a picnic area, numerous small beaches (the largest is to be found on the southwest side), a playground, and an arts center. The Seward Park Environmental & Audubon Center is at the entrance.
It is a Seattle city landmark, actually a Tudor-style house, originally the Seward Park Inn, renovated in 2008. At the Center there are plenty of activities and events all the time, so there is something to do for everyone.
One of the many advantages of Seward Park and especially for those who love nature is that more than one third of the surface of the park (120 acres) is what survived of the old growth forest, providing an idea of how the lake shore was before the emergence of the city of Seattle.
Moreover, as of 2004, Seward Park is home to wild rabbits, a growing colony of feral Peruvian parrots, and two nesting pairs of bald eagles.
As such, there are plenty of things to see for everyone in Seward Park, so come visit it, nobody will get bored and that’s for sure.
