All these branches have undergone a lot of changes since their foundation. All of the Seattle’s public libraries, except one, were Carnegie libraries, and even though the central Carnegie library has been replaced twice so far, all of the other 20th century purpose-built branches survive. Some of them have held a number of restaurants or antique stores, such as Ballard’s former Carnegie library, but still preserve their initial purpose.
You should also know that the main branch of the Seattle Public Library is the 11-story Seattle Central Library.
Other than the impressive book-heritage, the branches of the Seattle Public Library are notable works of architecture, so they can be considered as beauty spots, mixing culture in more ways than one. As you see the Seattle Public Library system ensures all you need for a genuine cultural tour in Seattle
