About Seattle AquariumThe management of the Seattle Aquarium was taken by the nonprofit organization Seattle Aquarium Society on July 1, 2010.
The aquarium has a very precise mission: it can be considered a vital force for marine conservation and it aims at raising awareness of the impact that people have on marine life. As such, the aquarium offers a summer camp and family learning programs, strongly promoting the love of science an appreciation for the marine environment. It draws over 800,000 visitors per year, from which 50,000 students, boasting with over 1,5 million school groups visiting the aquarium since its opening.
In June 2007, the Seattle Aquarium added a new expansion of 18,000-square-foot, out of which 2,625-square feet are occupied by the new gift store and the Seattle Aquarium Café, so, as you see, the Seattle Aquarium provides fun opportunities for everyone.
To these, two new exciting exhibitions have been added, therefore you can admire Window on Washington Waters and Crashing Waves.
In addition to these, at the Seattle Aquarium you can enjoy other amazing exhibitions as follows: Life on the Edge, Life of a Drifter, Pacific Coral Reef, Ocean Oddities, which exhibits Pinecone Fish, Cowfish, Flying Gurnards, Potbelly Seahorses, and Short Dragon Fish, Birds and Shores, Puget Sound Fish, Underwater Dome, which exhibits Salmon, Lingcod, Sharks, and Rockfish, and Marine Mammals. Therefore, you are more than welcome to visit the Seattle Aquarium.
