About Edmonds AmtrakThese trains operate between points such as Vancouver, BV, Bellingham, Seattle, and Eugene. It is also the station stop for Sound Transit’s Sounder Commuter Rail on the north line.
Edmonds Amtrak, the platform, and parking are property of BNSF Railway (formerly known as Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railway).
The current location of the Edmonds Amtrak station used to be a simple railroad depot where every day just eight trains stopped during the early 1990’s.
At present, the Edmonds Amtrak serves four southbound Sounder departures that ensure transportation during morning rush hours, with four returns in the afternoon. If you choose this route, then prepare to enjoy the sight of the Pacific Northwest, the Colombia River Gorge, as well as the amazing Mount St. Helens.
Those of you who want to get from Edmonds Amtrak to Chicago might as well take the Empire Builder that stops here and you’ll have the chance to admire the North Dakota Plains and St. Mary Lake on your way.
There have been plans in the past from Sound Transit to relocate the Edmonds Amtrak station, but it was postponed due to its renovation plan with an expected cost of $12.9 million and projected for completion at the beginning of 2011.
