About Bellevue Square
Bellevue Square is the perfect place for a lot of fun. It is a shopping mall in Bellevue, at about eight miles east of Seattle, owned by Kemper Freeman Jr. and his family.

With 180 retail stores, there is a wide range of choices for your shopping needs, including: anchors, such as JCPenney, Macy's, and Nordstrom, specialty stores like Mercer, LEGO, Tiffany and Co., the Apple Store, Armani Exchange and Williams-Sonoma, Lacoste, as well as amazing restaurants among which P.F. Chang's China Bistro, Cheesecake Factory, Red Robin, and Ruth's Chris Steak House. At Bellevue Square you can also benefit from the concierge services, valet parking, and children’s play areas.

Bellevue Square turns out to be a great tourist attraction since over 16 million visitors come here annually.
Its origins of a shopping center can be traced back to 1946, when Bellevue Square was first opened under the name of “Bellevue Shopping Square” where Marshall Field & Co. opened the first suburban department through its subsidiary, Frederick & Nelson, adding to its potential. This was followed in 1955 by J.C. Penney’s store, in 1958 by Nordstrom and a local shoe store, which then became Nordstrom Best in 1966, adding apparel.

During the 1980s the mall expanded in several phrases, adding The Bon Marché in 1984. After bankruptcy and closure of Frederick & Nelson, Saks Fifth Avenue opened in Bellevue Square as a mall shop in 1992. In 1994 another Bon Marché Home Store was added and it was renamed in 2003 Bon-Macy’s in order to become the famous Macy’s in 2005.

Bellevue Square has known further development in 2007 with the linkage to Lincoln Square by an impressive skybridge, and is currently undergoing a $40 million renovation.
